Bareilly: A meeting of the District-Level Mining Task Force was held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Avinash Singh at the Collectorate Auditorium to review enforcement measures aimed at curbing illegal mining, unauthorized transportation and unlawful storage of minerals across the district.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate assessed ongoing enforcement activities and directed officials to launch intensive joint operations against illegal mining and transportation. He emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of sensitive areas and instructed all concerned departments to strengthen coordination for effective implementation of mining regulations.
Officials from the mining, revenue, police, transport and other related departments were directed to work in close collaboration to identify violations and ensure prompt action against offenders. The review focused on cases related to illegal mining and transportation, seizure of vehicles, recovery of government revenue, functioning of check posts and the effectiveness of enforcement drives conducted in recent months.
Avinash Singh instructed officials to take strict action in accordance with the law against individuals and vehicles found violating mining regulations. He stressed that enforcement efforts should be carried out in a transparent and coordinated manner to deter illegal activities and protect government resources.
The District Magistrate also directed authorities to conduct regular verification of documents used in mineral transportation, including transit permits, e-Ravana and ISTP records. He said that any discrepancy or irregularity detected during inspections should be dealt with immediately through appropriate legal action.

The meeting highlighted the administration’s commitment to preventing unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals while ensuring compliance with mining rules and environmental safeguards.
Among those present were the Superintendent of Police (North), Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue), all Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Circle Officers, the District Mining Officer, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) and officials from various concerned departments.
The District Magistrate reiterated that sustained enforcement and inter-departmental coordination remain crucial for effectively tackling illegal mining activities and safeguarding public resources in the district.
