Bareilly: In view of the ongoing cold wave, the Mandal Commissioner conducted an inspection of the night shelters and bonfire locations operated by the Municipal Corporation of Bareilly. The inspection took place at the Satellite Bus Stand and Delapir areas on December 31, 2024. During the visit, the Commissioner distributed blankets to those in need across key roads and intersections in the city.
The Bareilly Municipal Corporation has set up 94 bonfire locations and 11 night shelters across the city to offer relief to people during the extreme cold. The Commissioner directed the concerned officials to ensure proper publicity of these night shelters, instructing them to put up banners and hoardings on major roads. This initiative aims to make residents aware of the available shelters and ensure that they can avail the facility if needed.
Furthermore, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of adequate arrangements at these night shelters and bonfire sites, ensuring their availability on major roads, intersections, and other prominent areas of the city. He also instructed authorities to monitor the need for increasing the capacity of the shelters and the number of bonfires in case of rising demand.
The initiative highlights the administration’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of vulnerable citizens during the severe cold wave, offering them a chance to stay warm and safe.
