Here is a special discussion with Ajay Devgn on this occasion…
1. After playing so many different characters, why did you like the character of Krishna in ‘Auron Mein Kahaan Dum Tha’?
The character of Krishna is very deep and full of emotions. It is not just a victim of tragedy, but a person whose life is connected with love, mishap, jail and regret. Neeraj Pandey has crafted this character in a very interesting way. The film is not just limited to crime and punishment, but it shows how one’s life and thinking changes after spending 22 years in jail.
2. The film has a deep blend of drama and love. What was the special challenge in portraying it?
The most special thing about the film is that it has a beautiful balance of tough scenes of prison and tender emotions of love. Amidst the loneliness of prison and the tension of the past, the relationship between Krishna and Vasundhara brings a different depth. The challenge was to portray these two completely different emotions in such a natural way that they touch the hearts of the audience. Neeraj helped a lot in maintaining a balance in this so that we remain true to our characters.
3. How was the experience of working with Tabu again?
Working with Tabu is always special. There is an effortless chemistry with her which is evident on screen. In this film, the relationship between Vasundhara and Krishna needed to be portrayed with depth and serenity. Tabu has given her outstanding performance in every scene, which made working with her even more easy and fun.
4. What will the audience learn from this film?
This film is not just a story of crime and punishment. It shows how circumstances in life change a person. It is a tale of courage and struggle, a story of relationships tested by time and also that there is always a ray of hope even in the toughest of times.
