Lucknow: Samajwadi Party leader Vijay Srivastava on Friday expressed strong confidence in the party’s prospects for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, asserting that no leader from the BJP would be able to match the stature of Akhilesh Yadav.
In a statement, Srivastava described Akhilesh Yadav as a visionary and widely respected socialist leader who embodies the ideals of prominent figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Ram Manohar Lohia, Jayaprakash Narayan, B. R. Ambedkar, and Mulayam Singh Yadav. He said that Akhilesh Yadav represents a leadership committed to safeguarding democratic rights and uplifting marginalized communities, including backward classes, women, minorities, farmers, and laborers.
Highlighting the tenure of the former chief minister, Srivastava claimed that Uttar Pradesh witnessed “world-class, multi-dimensional development” under Akhilesh Yadav’s leadership. He further alleged that law and order, education, and healthcare systems were better during that period compared to the current BJP सरकार. According to him, affordable and quality education was more accessible, healthcare facilities were stronger, and inclusive development of disadvantaged groups was prioritized.
The SP leader also emphasized that the state experienced greater social harmony during Akhilesh Yadav’s tenure. He expressed confidence that the party would return to power in 2027 with the support of the people, defeating the BJP through a broad coalition of social groups.
“Akhilesh Yadav will once again become Chief Minister in 2027 with the strength of the public,” Srivastava stated, adding that under his leadership, Uttar Pradesh would emerge as the number one state in the country with strengthened democratic values.
The statement comes as political activity in Uttar Pradesh intensifies ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, with parties beginning to outline their narratives and mobilize support across the state.
