Accused Arrested for Stealing Woman Passenger’s Handbag from Train; GRP Pilibhit Recovers Mobile, Charger, and Other Items
Pilibhit – In a significant breakthrough, the Government Railway Police (GRP), Pilibhit arrested a youth involved in the theft of a woman passenger’s handbag from a train. The arrest took place near Platform No. 1A of Pilibhit Railway Station, where the accused was found hiding near the bushes.
The accused, identified as Roshan alias Gujarati, son of Shyamlal, a resident of Mohalla Sarai near Bareilly Junction, Punjabi Market, Subhashnagar Police Station, District Bareilly, was apprehended at around 11:15 AM. He is approximately 21 years old.
Following a complaint lodged by a woman from Jamnahia village under Mitouli police station in Lakhimpur district, an FIR was registered under Case No. 04/25, Sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the BNS at GRP Pilibhit. Acting on a tip-off, the GRP team successfully arrested the accused and recovered the entire stolen handbag, which contained:

The operation was carried out under the ongoing campaign led by DySP Hrishikesh Yadav, as directed by ADG Railways, Lucknow, and under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (Railways), Prashant Verma.
