Lucknow, September 21: Senior journalist Govind Pant Raju has taken charge as the Uttar Pradesh Digital Head of the Navbharat Group, beginning a new chapter in his career spanning more than four decades in journalism.
Raju formally assumed the responsibility on September 21, 2026. His appointment brings extensive experience in print, television, digital journalism and media education to Navbharat Digital’s Uttar Pradesh operations.
Raju began his journalism career with Navbharat Times in the 1980s, working as a reporter and in the editorial department. He later worked with agencies and international media organisations including ANI and the BBC.
He subsequently spent a long stint with Aaj Tak, where he served as Bureau Chief for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and handled several major editorial responsibilities related to North India. Over the years, he has covered political, social and cultural developments as well as several significant national events.
One of the distinctive chapters of Raju’s career was his association with an Indian Antarctic expedition. According to published profiles, he travelled to Antarctica and reported from the region, interacting with scientists and covering subjects including climate, glaciers and scientific research.
His professional experience also includes digital journalism and media education. He has served as a visiting faculty member at Amity University, sharing his experience in journalism and television production with students.
As Uttar Pradesh Digital Head, Raju will now lead digital news operations covering the state’s politics, society, culture and issues of public interest. His appointment comes at a time when news consumption and digital storytelling are undergoing rapid transformation.
His new role is expected to bring his extensive field and editorial experience to Navbharat Digital’s coverage of Uttar Pradesh. Colleagues and members of the journalism fraternity have congratulated him and wished him success in his new assignment.
