Lucknow: Nagaram police in Lucknow’s South Zone arrested two wanted accused against whom non-bailable warrants (NBWs) had been issued for allegedly failing to appear before the court on scheduled dates for a prolonged period.
According to police, the arrests were made on September 13 as part of an ongoing drive to apprehend accused persons facing warrants issued by the courts. A police team was formed to trace and arrest the two accused, who were subsequently apprehended from their respective residences.
The arrested accused have been identified as Vasudev, 46, son of Gajju Rawat, a resident of Baktakheda village, Majra Patauna, under Nagaram police station, and Bhupendra Kumar, 35, son of late Ramadhar, a resident of Gulalkheda village, also under Nagaram police station.
Police said Vasudev is wanted in connection with Case No. 7223/14 and Crime No. 90/13, registered under Sections 325, 323 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code at Nagaram police station. Bhupendra Kumar is associated with Case No. 37971/20 and Case No. 98/19, registered under Section 323 IPC.
Following their arrest, police completed the necessary legal formalities and produced the two accused before the appropriate authorities, after which they were sent to judicial custody.
Police records also show previous cases against Vasudev at Nagaram police station. These include Crime No. 104/23 under Sections 323, 354, 354(B), 427, 452, 504 and 506 IPC, and Crime No. 133/23 under Sections 323, 504 and 506 IPC.
The arresting team comprised Sub-Inspectors Chandrashekhar and Rishabh Pandey and constables Sunil Kumar Rai and Gaurav Tiwari.
Nagaram police said the arrests were carried out in compliance with court orders and that further legal proceedings would follow as per law.
