Jammu: The Uttar Pradesh Vovinam team put up an impressive performance at the 15th National Vovinam Championship, winning four medals on the concluding day, including one gold, two silver and one bronze.
The championship was held from September 3 to 6 at the Bhagwati Nagar Indoor Stadium in Jammu, where athletes from Uttar Pradesh competed across various categories.

According to Uttar Pradesh Vovinam Association General Secretary Praveen Garg, the state’s medal winners included Rumana Suhail of Lucknow, who clinched the gold medal in the Senior Fighting Under-70 kg category.
Tania Suhail secured a silver medal in the Junior Fighting Under-64 kg category, while Anandita Pandey won silver in the Junior Fighting Under-60 kg category.

Prince Maurya bagged the bronze medal in the Junior Fighting Under-46 kg category.
Garg congratulated the medal-winning athletes for their strong performance at the national championship and said their achievements reflected the growing talent and competitive strength of Vovinam players from Uttar Pradesh.
The performance at the Jammu championship has further strengthened the state’s presence in the national Vovinam arena, with athletes continuing to make their mark through hard work, discipline and determination.
