Lucknow University Inaugurates Two-Day Model United Nations Conference

Lucknow: Lucknow University  inaugurated its two-day Model United Nations (MUN) Conference at A.P. Sen Hall, bringing together students from universities and educational institutions across the country to deliberate on pressing global issues through diplomatic dialogue and debate.

The conference, being held from July 29 to 30 under the patronage of the Vice-Chancellor, formally commenced with an inaugural ceremony attended by Professor Manuka Khanna, Professor Amritanshu Shukla and Professor Anchal Srivastava.

The event has been coordinated by Nitya Patel and Aishnit Yadav, who are overseeing the proceedings of the conference designed to provide participants with practical exposure to international diplomacy, policy discussions and multilateral negotiations.

The conference has attracted a diverse group of young delegates from leading institutions, including Banaras Hindu University, Integral University, Chandigarh University, Amity University, IIT Madras, Isabella Thoburn College, Study Hall College, Central Law College, Vedanta Law College, La Martiniere College, G.D. Goenka Public School and educational institutions from Sitapur, among others.

As part of the Model United Nations, multiple committees have been constituted, including the United Nations General Assembly. Delegates are engaging in structured debates on a range of contemporary international issues, with one of the key agenda items focusing on the protection and security of undersea infrastructure, a subject of growing global strategic importance.

The conference aims to enhance participants’ understanding of international relations, diplomacy and policymaking while fostering critical thinking, public speaking and collaborative problem-solving skills among students. It also provides a platform for young leaders to exchange ideas, negotiate resolutions and develop informed perspectives on complex global challenges.
