Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has invited applications for its four-year Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and three-year B.Sc. Tourism and Hospitality Operations programmes for the 2026–27 academic session, offering students industry-oriented training and promising career opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
The Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology has urged interested candidates to complete their registration through the Samarth portal at the earliest.
According to the department, students who have passed Class XII from any stream—Science, Arts, Commerce or equivalent—are eligible to apply. Candidates from the General and Other Backward Classes must have secured at least 45 per cent marks, while those belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes require a minimum of 40 per cent.
Department officials said the programmes are designed to provide practical, industry-focused training in hotel management, tourism and hospitality operations. Along with classroom instruction, students are taken on educational visits to leading hotels and undergo two six-month industrial training programmes at reputed five-star hotels, enabling them to gain hands-on professional experience before graduation.
The department noted that many students receive job offers even before completing their degrees from leading hotel chains, cruise lines, airlines and hospitality companies in India and abroad. Graduates also find opportunities in customer service-oriented sectors such as banking, while several alumni have successfully established their own restaurants, hotels, catering businesses and housekeeping enterprises.
Highlighting the sector’s growth potential, the department said the rapid expansion of tourism and business travel is expected to create a strong demand for skilled hospitality professionals in the coming years. With many developed countries facing a shortage of young workers, Indian graduates equipped with professional skills will have access to increasing global employment opportunities.
Dr. Hema Verma encouraged students to pursue careers aligned with their interests and urged parents to support their children’s career aspirations. She said the hospitality and tourism industry now offers diverse and rewarding professional opportunities that were not available a decade or two ago, making it an attractive career choice for today’s youth.
