SBI CSR Initiative Provides 500 Benches to Aminabad Inter College in Lucknow

Lucknow: In a significant boost to educational infrastructure, State Bank of India has provided 500 benches to Aminabad Inter College under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The benches were formally dedicated to students on Wednesday during a special event attended by Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal.

The initiative aims to enhance classroom facilities and provide a more comfortable learning environment for students studying at the municipal corporation-run institution.

Mayor Appreciates SBI’s Contribution

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal praised SBI’s contribution and described it as an excellent example of social responsibility in the field of education. She said that providing students with better educational facilities and resources is essential for building a strong foundation for their future.

The Mayor noted that the Lucknow Municipal Corporation is continuously working to improve both the quality of education and the infrastructure in schools under its administration. She added that the addition of 500 new benches would help create a more organized and conducive learning environment for students.

Kharkwal also emphasized the importance of collaboration between public institutions and socially responsible organizations in strengthening the education system and expressed gratitude to SBI for its support.

Senior Officials Attend the Event

The programme was attended by Gaurav Kumar, local councillor Mukesh Singh Monty, Additional Municipal Commissioner Arun Kumar Gupta, Chief Finance and Accounts Officer Mahamilind Lal, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Rashmi Bharti, SBI Deputy General Manager Dheeraj Kumar, Regional Manager Avantika Singh, Government Business Branch Head Richa Dwivedi, Deputy Manager Mrityunjay Dubey, and Principal Sahab Lal Mishra, along with teachers and students.

Tree Plantation Drive Held Under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”

Following the ceremony, a tree plantation drive was organized on the school campus under the nationwide Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign.

Mayor Kharkwal, along with municipal officials, elected representatives, and SBI representatives, planted saplings to promote environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that planting trees is an important step toward environmental protection, but ensuring their proper care and maintenance is equally essential. She urged citizens to plant a tree in honor of their mothers and take responsibility for nurturing it.

The dual initiative of improving educational infrastructure and promoting environmental awareness was widely appreciated by students, teachers, and community representatives present at the event.
