Chunar (Mirzapur), Uttar Pradesh: Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL), a subsidiary of Dalmia Bharat Limited, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully dispatching the first consignment of cement from its newly operational Chunar Grinding Unit in Uttar Pradesh. The inaugural shipment comprised 30 tonnes of cement destined for the revered Maa Vindhyavasini Temple in Vindhyachal, Mirzapur.
The occasion was marked with a formal flag-off ceremony attended by senior leadership and members of the Chunar Grinding Unit team. Among those present were Rajesh Srivastava, Unit Head – Chunar; Amitabh Pandey, Zonal Trade Sales Head (Central); Gaurav Singh, Project HR Head; Gopa Kuttan, National Security Head; Pramod Kumar, Unit Head – Churk; P.K. Singhania, Advisor; Manish Goyal, Technical Head; along with project executives, workmen, and contract staff associated with the facility.
The commencement of dispatch operations reflects the operational readiness of the Chunar Grinding Unit and reinforces Dalmia Bharat’s commitment to strengthening its manufacturing and distribution network in North India. With an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes (MTPA), the strategically located facility is expected to cater to the growing demand for cement across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and neighboring states, enhancing service efficiency and market reach.
Notably, the first dispatch was achieved in less than a month after the transfer of assets on May 22, 2026, making it one of the fastest post-acquisition operational transitions in the industry. The achievement highlights the efficiency, coordination, and dedication of the Chunar team in bringing the unit into operation within a short timeframe.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Srivastava, Unit Head of the Chunar Grinding Unit, said, “The first dispatch from the Chunar facility is a major milestone in our journey and reflects the dedication, collaboration, and hard work of our teams.
