Lucknow on Alert After Ranchi RSS Office Attack; Security Tightened at Bharati Bhavan

Lucknow: Security agencies in Uttar Pradesh have stepped up vigilance following the petrol bomb attack on a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) provincial office in Ranchi. Authorities in Lucknow have strengthened security measures around Bharati Bhavan, the city’s RSS headquarters, after investigators revealed that the attackers may have been planning to target the facility as well.

Senior police officials, including DCP West Kamlesh Dixit, Additional DCP Dhananjay Singh, and Naka Police Station Inspector Abhinav Verma, conducted a detailed security review of the premises on Saturday. The inspection covered the office complex, surrounding areas, surveillance infrastructure, and visitor management systems.

Officials examined CCTV camera operations and reviewed visitor logs to ensure that all security protocols were functioning effectively. Instructions were issued to security personnel and staff to maintain heightened vigilance and immediately report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities.

Additional police personnel have been deployed outside the premises, while regular patrols have been intensified in nearby localities. Police officials emphasized that preventive measures are being taken to safeguard sensitive locations across the state capital.

According to investigators probing the Ranchi attack, the arrested suspects—identified as Aman Ansari and Saif Ansari—allegedly intended to carry out further incidents in Kanpur and Lucknow. During questioning, the accused reportedly disclosed that they had been receiving instructions through WhatsApp calls.

Investigative agencies believe a larger organized network may have been involved in planning the attacks. However, Lucknow Police have assured residents that security arrangements remain robust and that intelligence and law-enforcement agencies are maintaining constant surveillance to prevent any potential threats.

Authorities have urged the public to remain alert and cooperate with security personnel by reporting suspicious activities, while emphasizing that there is no immediate cause for panic.
