Mumbai: AI-powered sports technology platform Kabuni has announced the appointment of Indian batting star Shreyas Iyer as its newest Super Coach, strengthening the company’s mission to revolutionize cricket training through cutting-edge technology and world-class mentorship.
With this association, Shreyas Iyer joins an elite roster of Kabuni Super Coaches that already includes Sourav Ganguly, Shane Watson, and AB de Villiers. All four cricketing icons will be present at the Kabuni Showcase in Mumbai on June 7, where the company will formally present its platform and opportunities for schools, parents, and aspiring cricketers across India.
One of the major highlights of the launch will be the nationwide youth cricket tournament, “Want to Play for a Legend?”, scheduled to begin in June. Open to players aged 12 to 16 years, the competition will allow young cricketers to showcase their skills through Kabuni’s technology platform and compete for a place on Shreyas Iyer’s team. The selection process will be supported by Kabuni’s real-time feedback and performance assessment tools.
Kabuni uses advanced motion tracking, biomechanics, and AI-powered analytics to monitor player movements and ball data in real time. The platform provides personalized guidance through voice, video, and visual feedback, helping players improve their game through its “1% Improvement” philosophy, where small, consistent gains lead to significant long-term development.

Speaking on his association with the platform, Shreyas Iyer said that India has no shortage of cricketing talent, but young players often need the right guidance and feedback to bridge the gap between their current abilities and their potential. He noted that Kabuni equips aspiring cricketers with tools that can accelerate their development and enhance performance.
Kabuni Founder and CEO Nimesh Patel said that Iyer represents the spirit of the modern cricketer—talented, driven, and constantly striving for improvement. He added that the batter’s mindset aligns closely with Kabuni’s vision of developing technically sound, mentally strong, and confident players capable of excelling under pressure.
As Kabuni continues to expand its reach, the addition of Shreyas Iyer marks another significant milestone in its effort to combine elite cricket expertise with advanced technology, making high-quality coaching accessible to the next generation of cricketers.
