Vice Chancellor leads morning fitness drive to promote healthy lifestyle and connection with nature

Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University has launched a special initiative during the summer vacation to promote health awareness, fitness and environmental consciousness among students, teachers and staff members.
Under the initiative, the university’s Sports Department has started a series of early morning activities including running, yoga, exercise sessions and gym workouts, witnessing enthusiastic participation from members of the university community.
Vice Chancellor Professor K P Singh personally inaugurated the campaign by reaching the sports complex at around 6 am and playing badminton with faculty members and sports department officials, encouraging everyone to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Registrar Harish Chand, Sports Council Secretary Professor S S Bedi, teachers from various faculties, sports department staff and players were also present during the programme.

Addressing participants, the Vice Chancellor said that dedicating even one hour daily to health, yoga and sports can significantly improve work efficiency, positive thinking and overall work culture. He stressed that a healthy body and a balanced lifestyle form the true foundation of success.
As part of the “Cleanliness and Health” campaign, the university administration has also developed a dedicated clean drinking water facility for players and visitors inside the sports complex. The newly created area includes a decorative fountain-based drinking water point surrounded by greenery, plantation and seating arrangements, offering a peaceful and refreshing environment for students and staff.
The Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Sports Council Secretary also participated in a plantation drive during the event, reinforcing the message of environmental protection and sustainable living.
University officials stated that the initiative aims to inspire not only students and employees but also society at large to adopt healthier lifestyles, maintain cleanliness and remain connected with nature. The university reiterated its commitment to promoting health awareness, environmental conservation and collective participation alongside academic excellence.
