Gonda: A free health camp was organised at Hari Narayan Savitri Devi Mini Charitable Clinic through a joint initiative of Hind Heart Institute, Hind Hospital, Barabanki, and Lions Club Gonda Seva. Around 125 patients received free ECG tests, blood sugar screening and medical consultations, along with guidance on preventing cardiovascular diseases.
Senior cardiologist Dr Pankaj Kumar Srivastava emphasised that the heart is one of the most vital organs of the human body and requires proper care. He identified irregular lifestyles, unhealthy dietary habits and stress as major risk factors for heart disease.
He expressed concern over the rising incidence of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases in India, noting that younger people are increasingly affected. He stressed that prevention and awareness are as important as treatment. Regular health check-ups, a balanced diet and physical exercise can help reduce the risk of heart-related complications.
Lions Club Gonda Seva president Amit Pandey said early diagnosis and timely treatment could prevent serious complications. Club patron Rajkumar Jaiswal also highlighted the growing burden of heart disease and called for greater public awareness. Lion Ajay Mittal stressed the importance of organising regular health camps to encourage preventive healthcare.
Dr Srivastava was felicitated with a bouquet, a memento and a traditional stole by the club members in recognition of his contribution.
