Bareilly DM Reviews Progress of Ongoing Land Consolidation Process

Officials directed to speed up pending cases and resolve farmers’ grievances through village outreach

Bareilly: Bareilly DM Avinash Singh chaired the monthly review meeting of villages undergoing land consolidation (chakbandi) proceedings at the Collectorate auditorium and directed officials to accelerate pending work while ensuring transparency in the process.

During the meeting, the District Magistrate conducted a point-wise review of the ongoing land consolidation activities in various villages across the district. Stressing the importance of the exercise for farmers, he said the chakbandi process plays a crucial role in ensuring systematic and efficient use of agricultural land and therefore all related works should be completed within the stipulated timeline.

The District Magistrate instructed concerned officials to expedite the disposal of pending cases and warned that negligence in the execution of consolidation work would not be tolerated.

Reviewing villages where the consolidation process has stalled due to public opposition, Avinash Singh directed officials to coordinate with the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates to resolve issues and restart work in affected areas at the earliest.

He also instructed officers to give priority to farmers’ grievances during the consolidation process and ensure timely resolution through village chaupals and direct public interaction. Emphasising transparency, the District Magistrate directed that all procedures be carried out strictly according to rules and regulations.

The DM further instructed departments to maintain their performance standards and preserve their rankings on the CM Dashboard through effective monitoring and timely action.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate (Judicial) Desh Deepak Singh, Settlement Officer Consolidation, consolidation officers and assistant consolidation officers of the concerned villages.
