Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ Set for World Television Premiere on Sony MAX on May 31

Mumbai: After winning hearts in theatres and on digital platforms, Sitaare Zameen Par is now gearing up for its World Television Premiere on Sony MAX on Sunday, May 31 at 1 PM. Headlined by Aamir Khan, the emotional sports drama promises to bring families across India together for an entertaining and heartwarming viewing experience.

Directed by R S Prasanna, the film tells the inspiring story of Gulshan Arora, a basketball coach whose life takes an unexpected turn after a drunk-driving incident leads him to community service. As part of his punishment, he is assigned to train a team of neurodivergent players for a basketball tournament. What begins as an obligation gradually transforms into a deeply personal and life-changing journey.

The film also stars Genelia D’Souza as Sunita, Gulshan’s wife, alongside a talented ensemble featuring Naman Mishra, Rishabh Jain, Arush Dutta, Ashish Pendse, Simran Mangeshkar, Vedant Sharma, Samvit Desai, Rishi Shahani, Ayush Bhansali and Gopikrishnan K. Verma. The presence of real individuals rather than trained actors adds authenticity and emotional depth to the narrative.

Speaking about the film’s television premiere, Aamir Khan said the overwhelming love received by the movie has been deeply emotional for the entire team. He shared that the intention was to create a warm and joyful story that families could enjoy together, and expressed happiness that the film would now reach even more homes through Sony MAX.

Genelia D’Souza described the film as a beautiful celebration of innocence, positivity and human potential. She said the story challenges the tendency to define people by limitations and instead highlights their strengths and capabilities.

Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with B. Srinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka as producers, the film continues Sony MAX’s tradition of presenting blockbuster family entertainers that celebrate togetherness and shared viewing experiences.

The makers say the film’s blend of humour, emotion and warmth makes it a memorable celebration for audiences of all generations.
