Gonda: The Basic Education Department organised a grand “Shiksha Mitra Felicitation and Enhanced Honorarium Distribution Ceremony” at the Zila Panchayat Auditorium, celebrating the contribution of Shiksha Mitras and recognising their role in strengthening primary education.
The event was attended by prominent dignitaries including District Panchayat Chairman Ghanshyam Mishra, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan, BJP District President Akbal Bahadur Tiwari, representatives of Gonda MP Rajesh Singh and Kaiserganj MP Sanjeev Singh, as well as District Development Officer and In-charge Chief Development Officer Sushil Kumar Srivastava.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a floral tribute to Goddess Saraswati. Attendees also collectively listened to the address of Yogi Adityanath, who highlighted the significant contribution of Shiksha Mitras and the importance of the enhanced honorarium initiative.
A key highlight of the event was the distribution of demo cheques representing the increased honorarium to Shiksha Mitras. Speakers at the ceremony praised their dedication, commitment, and invaluable role in the education sector, noting that the initiative would boost their morale and motivation.

In addition, educational stalls set up by various schools across the district were showcased at the venue. The dignitaries inspected these stalls and appreciated the innovative teaching materials, creative displays, and efforts made by schools to improve the quality of education.
The event was also attended by District Basic Education Officer Amit Kumar Singh, block education officers, office bearers of the Shiksha Mitra association, and a large number of Shiksha Mitras.
Officials described the programme as a well-coordinated effort by the Basic Education Department, aimed at encouraging educators and bringing positive transformation in the field of education.
