Gonda: The Basic Education Department organised a grand “Shiksha Mitra Felicitation and Enhanced Honorarium Distribution Ceremony” at the Zila Panchayat Auditorium, marking a significant initiative to recognise the contribution of Shiksha Mitras and boost their morale.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including District Panchayat Chairman Ghanshyam Mishra, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan, BJP District President Akbal Bahadur Tiwari, representatives of Gonda MP Rajesh Singh and Kaiserganj MP Sanjeev Singh, along with District Development Officer and In-charge Chief Development Officer Sushil Kumar Srivastava.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral tribute to Goddess Saraswati. Attendees also collectively listened to an address by Yogi Adityanath, who highlighted the role of Shiksha Mitras in strengthening primary education and spoke about the recent increase in their honorarium.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the distribution of demo cheques reflecting the enhanced honorarium to Shiksha Mitras. Speakers at the event praised their dedication, commitment, and contribution to the education sector, describing the initiative as a morale booster for thousands of educators working at the grassroots level.

In addition, educational stalls set up by various schools across the district were showcased within the Zila Panchayat premises. The dignitaries reviewed teaching materials, innovative learning methods, and student-led creative exhibits, appreciating the efforts aimed at improving the quality of education.
The event saw the presence of District Basic Education Officer Amit Kumar Singh, block education officers, and representatives of the Shiksha Mitra association, along with a large number of Shiksha Mitras.
Officials described the programme as a coordinated effort by the Basic Education Department to encourage educators and promote positive transformation in the education system.
