Lucknow: A vibrant cultural initiative aimed at nurturing artistic talent among children and youth was launched with enthusiasm at Valmiki Park in Takrohi, Indira Nagar, on Sunday. The ‘Chabutra Theatre Pathshala’, an initiative by the Mother Seva Sansthan, saw an impressive turnout and a lively beginning filled with music, dance, and theatre.
The inauguration ceremony was held at Sector-11, Indira Nagar, drawing the presence of several distinguished guests. Former Director of Akashvani Lucknow, Prithviraj Chauhan, attended as the chief guest and подчеркed the importance of arts in shaping individuals. “Arts are what make us better human beings,” he said, highlighting the role of creative expression in personal growth.
Among the special guests were former councillor of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ward (First), Dr. Kashiram Rawat, along with Dr. Ram Pratap Yadav and social worker F. Lal. Other notable attendees included Rajesh Pujari, Roopchand Valmiki, and Sanjay (Advocate), who lent their support to the initiative.
According to Mahesh Chandra Deva, Secretary of the organization, the Pathshala has been launched keeping in mind the summer vacations, with the aim of encouraging children and youth to engage with theatre, music, and literature. Weekly classes will now be conducted every Sunday from 5 PM, featuring sessions in acting, music, and painting to help participants build confidence and connect with cultural roots.
The inaugural session witnessed an engaging training workshop where children were introduced to the nuances of acting, including mirror exercises and improvisation techniques. Musical elements added to the vibrancy, with group singing sessions captivating the audience. Performances and interactive learning created an energetic atmosphere, bringing the ‘chabutra’ alive with creativity.
Over 50 children between the ages of 5 and 14 participated in the opening session, showcasing enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
Kiran Lata, President of the organization, emphasized that the primary objective of the Pathshala is to promote arts at the grassroots level and provide a platform for young minds to explore their creative potential.
With its dynamic start, the Chabutra Theatre Pathshala promises to become a meaningful cultural space, fostering creativity and community engagement in the heart of Indira Nagar.
