Lucknow: The Kun Sewa Samiti organized its annual “Talent Recognition & Social Upliftment Ceremony” on November 30, 2025, at Sahkarita Bhavan, Lucknow. The event celebrated academic excellence, provided financial assistance for education, showcased cultural performances, and honored social contributors.
A total of 100 meritorious students—55 from the 10th grade and 45 from the 12th grade, representing boards across India—were awarded certificates and trophies for outstanding academic performance. In addition, 50 economically disadvantaged, single-parent, and orphaned children received financial aid of ₹10,000 each to support their education.
Children from various districts presented cultural performances, including folk songs and dramas inspired by the ideologies of prominent social reformers. The Samiti also recognized 35 senior social workers, officials, teachers, businessmen, and dedicated volunteers with shawls, mementos, and bouquets. Outstanding young athletes, including hockey coach Dharmendra Sonkar, tennis coach Arvind Sonkar, football coach Shraddha Sonkar, and cricket player Sudhanshu Sonkar, were also honored.
Ceremonial Inauguration:
The program commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony led by Chief Scientist Dr. R. K. Sonkar, accompanied by senior members of the Budh Vandana Society, Mr. Sitaram Sonkar and Mr. Chandan Sonkar.
Keynote Speakers and Insights:
1️⃣ Dr. Ragini Sonkar (Former AIIMS Doctor & MLA, Machhlishahr)
Dr. Ragini emphasized that “Education is the milk of a lioness; only those who drink it can roar.” She highlighted the struggles of Savitribai Phule and Mata Ramabai, urging girls to prioritize education. She stressed that children have abundant talent, but require resources, guidance, and opportunities.
2️⃣ Shailendra Sonkar (Deputy Commissioner—Persons with Disabilities, UP)
Mr. Sonkar addressed the awardees, calling the recognition “not just a prize, but the first step towards a bright future.” He encouraged youth to cultivate discipline, set high goals, and understand that education and awareness are the foundation of social equality and justice.
3️⃣ Dr. R. K. Sonkar (Chief Scientist & Program Chair)
Dr. Sonkar highlighted the importance of modern education in shaping society and responsible citizens. Students took a 13-point pledge to pursue academic excellence, avoid superstition, and maintain focus on education. He urged parents to create a supportive learning environment and minimize distractions from TV, mobile phones, and social media.
4️⃣ Shri Rakesh Kumar Sonkar (President, Kun Sewa Samiti)
Mr. Sonkar paid tribute to the struggles of social reformers, especially Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, and encouraged children to uplift not only themselves but also their communities. He emphasized the Samiti’s mission: providing opportunities to talent, honoring struggle, and guiding society.
