Lucknow: In a decisive step toward transforming Uttar Pradesh into a leading logistics hub, the state government has approved Rs 1,416 crore worth of investments across 20 private-sector logistics projects. The initiative comes under the Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2022, aimed at strengthening industrial growth, boosting storage infrastructure, and generating employment.

The announcement followed the first official meeting of the Empowered Committee, chaired by Chief Secretary Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, where two projects—OWM Logipark Varanasi LLP and KMRA Associates LLP, Unnao—received Letters of Comfort (LoC) and capital subsidies worth ₹4.89 crore and ₹4.90 crore respectively.

Major Project Approvals

  • OWM Logipark Varanasi LLP will develop a state-of-the-art warehousing facility across 8.94 acres in Bihra village, Rajatalab tehsil, with an investment of Rs 33.29 crore.

  • KMRA Associates LLP is investing Rs 44.58 crore to create a warehousing complex over 12 acres in Rasoolpur village, Hasanganj tehsil, Unnao.

These facilities will not only serve as critical infrastructure for agriculture, manufacturing, and retail supply chains, but also bring direct and indirect employment opportunities to eastern and central UP.

Policy Incentives and Investment Pipeline

According to  Mayur Maheshwari, CEO of UPLCIDA, a total of 20 companies have received Unique IDs under the policy, marking their projects eligible for state incentives. All these projects cumulatively account for an investment pipeline of Rs 1,416 crore and are at various stages of development.

Under the policy, projects must meet specific eligibility criteria, including:

  • A minimum investment of Rs 20 crore

  • At least 1 lakh square feet of warehousing space

  • Eligibility for 15% capital subsidy, capped at Rs 5 crore

High-Level Participation and Vision

The meeting was attended by key decision-makers including:

  •  Anurag Yadav, Principal Secretary, IT & Electronics

  •  Vijay Kiran Anand, Secretary, Infrastructure & Industrial Development

Their presence reaffirmed the state’s commitment to creating an investor-friendly ecosystem with streamlined project clearances, improved last-mile connectivity, and robust infrastructure support.

Toward a Northern India Logistics Hub

The Uttar Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2022 is designed to catalyze large-scale private investments by offering fiscal incentives, regulatory ease, and a proactive governance model. The government envisions UP becoming the logistics nerve center of northern India, linking key industrial corridors with efficient storage and transport systems.

With this latest round of approvals and strategic support, Uttar Pradesh is firmly on track to reshape its logistics landscape and emerge as a preferred destination for industrial and warehousing growth in India.
