LMC Reviews Preparations for Bada Mangal, 348 Bhandaras Registered So Far

Lucknow: With massive crowds of devotees and widespread Bhandara (community feast) arrangements expected on the occasion of Bada Mangal, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has stepped up preparations. Acting on the instructions of Hon’ble Mayor Mrs. Sushma Kharkwal and under the directives of Municipal Commissioner Mr. Gaurav Kumar, Municipal Health Officer Dr. P.K. Srivastava conducted inspections of several ancient Hanuman temples on Monday.

During the inspection, Zone 3 Zonal Officer  Amarjeet Singh, Zonal Sanitary Officer Jitendra Gandhi, Sanitary and Food Inspectors Sanchita Mishra and Pramod Gautam, along with Control Room Team Leader Subodh, were present.

Dr. Srivastava visited Gulachin Temple, Bade Hanuman Temple, and Chhote Hanuman Temple to assess the cleanliness in and around the temple premises. It was found that silt and waste had not been properly cleared from drains at some locations. The concerned officials were immediately instructed to complete the cleaning work without delay.

Cleanliness Before and After Bhandaras is Mandatory

The Municipal Health Officer issued clear instructions to ensure cleanliness both before and after Bhandaras at all designated locations. Event organizers are required to coordinate with LMC and ensure dustbins are placed and waste is removed promptly after the event.

According to the LMC, so far, 348 Bhandara events have been registered across the city’s eight zones through the control room or the Lucknow One app. This figure indicates that, like previous years, the city will witness numerous Bhandaras and large public participation.
