Marathon Commemorates 25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas

Lucknow: A Mini Marathon was successfully conducted in Lucknow to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Organised in collaboration with the Indian Army’s Central Command, the event aimed to honour the memory of the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War and to celebrate the valiant victory achieved in Operation Vijay.

The marathon, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from citizens across the city, was flagged off at Lulu Mall by Major General Salil Seth, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Madhya UP Sub Area. The event served as a heartfelt tribute to the fallen heroes and a celebration of the indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces. The event brought together individuals from various walks of life, united in their respect and admiration for the sacrifices made by the Indian Army during the Kargil conflict.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on 26 July to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999. This year, marking the 25th anniversary, the event holds special significance as the nation reflects on the courage and resilience displayed by its armed forces.

The Indian Army remains committed to fostering a spirit of patriotism and national pride among the citizens of India.
