New Delhi: Four cooperative sugar mills of Uttar Pradesh have been awarded the National Efficiency Award for better management and efficiency. This award was given by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in the ‘Sugar Industry Seminar and National Efficiency Award 2022-23’ ceremony organized under the aegis of National Cooperative Sugar Factory Association Ltd., New Delhi.
This achievement is being considered a big honor for the cooperative sugar industry of the state, which is a symbol of their better management and efficiency. State Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry Minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary was also present on this occasion.
Giving this information, Chaudhary said that among the awarded sugar mills, Ramala Sugar Mill was honored for maximum sugarcane crushing, Snehroad Sugar Mill for technical efficiency, Anupshahar Sugar Mill for sugarcane development and Gajraula Sugar Mill for excellent performance in the field of financial management.
Chaudhary informed that 23 cooperative sugar mills are operating in Uttar Pradesh, with a total daily sugarcane crushing capacity of 65,375 tonnes. After the formation of the popular government in the state in the year 2017 and the year 2022, several schemes were implemented to strengthen the cooperative sugar industry, including technical upgradation and capacity expansion.
As a result of these efforts, the efficiency of cooperative sugar mills has increased significantly, as a result of which they have received this honor at the national level.
On this occasion, Minister of State for Cooperation Krishna Pal Gurjar and Cooperative Sugar Mills Association of Uttar Pradesh were present.
