Yogi Government’s New Initiative: Summer Camps to Enrich Holiday Experience for Children

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh has announced a special initiative to organise summer camps in select Parishad schools during the upcoming summer vacations. Scheduled to be held between May 20 and June 15, the initiative aims to provide children with a creative and enriching experience during their break from regular classes.

Organised by the Basic Education Department, the camps will include a variety of activities such as yoga, sports, life skills training, personality development, and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) modules. The initiative is designed to promote physical, mental, and intellectual development in children, while also enhancing their confidence and communication skills.

Camps to Run for 1.5 Hours Daily

This programme is part of the state government’s broader vision to develop life skills and self-reliance among children from an early age. As per Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, each summer camp session will run for one and a half hours every morning, blending joy, fitness, and foundational learning.

These camps will be conducted under the supervision of trained teachers, Shiksha Mitras, and volunteers. The initiative will also involve voluntary organisations and graduate students, ensuring a collaborative and enthusiastic environment for the children.

Special Focus on Nutrition

The government has also prioritised the nutritional needs of the children attending the camp. Nutritious snacks like jaggery bars, millet and amaranth laddoos, and jaggery with roasted gram will be provided to keep the children energised and active during the activities.

The goal of these summer camps is not just to keep children engaged, but to transform their vacation into a productive learning experience. The initiative reflects a strategic move to encourage holistic skill development and personal growth among students during their time away from the classroom.
