Mumbai: Actor Yashpal Sharma is set to take audiences into a world of fear, mystery and suspense with his latest supernatural horror thriller, Jhaad-Phoonk, which has premiered on JioHotstar. The makers have also released a new trailer to mark the film’s digital debut.
Directed by Rajan Ramgopal Varma, the film features Yashpal Sharma alongside Padmini Kolhapure, Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Harsh Rajput and Apratim Singh in significant roles.
Speaking about his experience, Sharma described the project as an interesting and challenging one, particularly because of the multiple layers in his character. He said he enjoys portraying roles that keep audiences guessing and encourage them to discover something new as the story unfolds. He also praised his experience of working with the director and expressed happiness that the film was reaching audiences across the country through JioHotstar.

Set against the backdrop of Uttarakhand’s hills, the story begins with a road accident after which a pregnant woman named Aastha takes shelter in an unfamiliar house. The family initially appears welcoming, but its behaviour gradually becomes mysterious and unsettling. The presence of an unknown woman, the disappearance of Aastha’s companion and concerns about the safety of her unborn child lead to a series of suspenseful developments.
Produced under the banner of Neev Entertainment India, the film is produced by Shailesh Parihar, with Vrinda Brahmbhatt serving as co-producer.
Blending horror, suspense and psychological fear, Jhaad-Phoonk brings together an ensemble cast, with Sharma’s layered performance emerging as one of its key attractions.
