Wankhede Stadium to Host 30-Match Cricket Extravaganza as MCA Unveils Fixtures for T20 Mumbai League 2026 and Inaugural Women’s Tournament
Mumbai | The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced the schedule for a landmark cricket spectacle featuring the T20 Mumbai League 2026 and the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League, with a total of 30 high-intensity matches set to be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium from June 1 to June 13.
The upcoming season promises a vibrant mix of international stars, IPL and WPL performers, and Mumbai’s rising domestic talent, making it one of the most anticipated cricketing events of the year in the city.
Packed Schedule with Three Daily Slots
Matches in the women’s league will begin at 9:30 AM, while the men’s competition will feature fixtures at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM during the league stage, ensuring continuous cricketing action throughout the day.
The tournament will kick off on June 1 with a blockbuster double-header. In the afternoon, Bandra Blasters, featuring Yashasvi Jaiswal, will face Eagle Thane Strikers led by Shardul Thakur. The evening clash will see Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals, led by Tushar Deshpande, take on Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs, captained by Sarfaraz Khan.
Star-Studded Men’s Competition
The men’s league will feature eight teams, each playing five league-stage matches. The top four sides will advance to the semi-finals scheduled for June 11.
Fans can expect marquee appearances from Indian cricket stars including Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Shardul Thakur, and Tushar Deshpande, alongside promising young talents such as Ayush Mhatre, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Musheer Khan, Suryansh Shedge, and Abhigyan Kundu.
Inaugural Women’s League Takes Center Stage
The first-ever T20 Mumbai Women’s League will feature three teams — SoBo Mumbai Falcons, Thane Sky Risers, and Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs — beginning June 2.
The opening women’s match will see Thane Sky Risers, led by Saima Thakor, take on SoBo Mumbai Falcons, captained by Sayali Satghare. Each team will play four league matches, with the top two qualifying for the final.

The women’s competition will showcase emerging talents such as Humairaa Kaazi, Ira Jadhav, Simran Shaikh, Sanika Chalke, and Vrushali Bhagat, underlining the growing depth of women’s cricket in Mumbai.
A Unified Cricket Festival
For the first time, both men’s and women’s tournaments will run simultaneously, marking a significant step in creating a more inclusive and professionally structured cricket ecosystem in Mumbai.
The finals will be held on June 13, with the women’s final at 2:00 PM followed by the men’s grand finale at 7:00 PM.
MCA President Ajinkya Naik said the league will provide a world-class platform for young cricketers to share the field with established stars, while also offering fans two weeks of high-quality cricket at Wankhede Stadium.
League Governing Council Chairman Rajdip Gupta added that the expanded format will ensure greater exposure for emerging players and deliver highly competitive matches throughout the tournament.
Growing Legacy of T20 Mumbai League
Since its launch in 2018, the T20 Mumbai League has emerged as a key stepping stone for players progressing to the IPL and higher levels of Indian cricket. The addition of the women’s league marks a major expansion of Mumbai’s domestic cricket structure.
All matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports and streamed on JioHotstar, ensuring wide national reach and visibility for players.
With packed fixtures, star power, and emerging talent, the Wankhede Stadium is set to host a true cricket carnival this June.
