Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has said that the construction of eligible rural assets under the Viksit Bharat-G RAM G scheme will play an important role in strengthening basic infrastructure, promoting community development and improving the quality of life in villages.
Maurya said the initiative would help expand essential public facilities and create a better living environment for rural families. Panchayat buildings, he noted, are emerging as important centres for community interaction, public participation and local development activities, providing villagers with dedicated spaces for discussions and planning.
The construction of Anganwadi centres under the scheme will support facilities related to childcare, nutrition and early childhood development, helping create a conducive environment for children’s growth in rural areas.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasised that rural development extends beyond the creation of physical infrastructure to improving education, nutrition, community participation and access to public amenities. Eligible works under the scheme will help develop essential assets according to local requirements.
The scheme also permits infrastructure development in government schools, including additional classrooms, toilets, playgrounds, kitchen sheds, laboratories and boundary walls. These facilities are expected to improve the learning environment and provide students with better educational resources.

Maurya said additional classrooms would create more space for teaching, while laboratories would encourage practical learning and playgrounds would support physical development and sporting activities. Toilets, kitchen sheds and boundary walls would further contribute to a better-organised and more functional school environment.
He highlighted the importance of rural assets such as panchayat buildings, Anganwadi centres and government schools, which directly address the needs of village communities.
According to Maurya, the development of these facilities under the Viksit Bharat-G RAM G scheme would help meet community, nutrition and educational needs while accelerating rural infrastructure development and improving the overall quality of life in villages across Uttar Pradesh.
