New Delhi: Union Minister Jual Oram played the role of Nishad Raj at the world-famous Luv Kush Ramlila, organised at the Red Fort grounds in Delhi. His performance received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience, as emotionally charged episodes from the Ramayana brought devotees closer to the epic’s timeless message.
According to Luv Kush Ramlila Committee president Arjun Kumar, the day’s programme featured a grand procession celebrating Lord Ram’s wedding, accompanied by bands, drums, nagadas, shehnai, conch shells and other traditional instruments. Devotees danced along, creating a vibrant devotional atmosphere.

The stage performances included the announcement of Lord Ram’s coronation, the Manthara-Kaikeyi dialogue, the confrontation between Kaikeyi and King Dasharatha, Ram’s exile and his meeting with Nishad Raj. These scenes moved many spectators, particularly the portrayal of Lord Ram’s departure for the forest.
Actor Mohit Tyagi, a member of the Dainik Bhaskar family, portrayed Sumantra, King Dasharatha’s trusted minister and close friend.

The committee said audience attendance had been steadily increasing. Security arrangements have consequently been strengthened, with Delhi Police personnel, civil defence staff, volunteers and bouncers deployed around the venue.
Committee general secretary Subhash Goyal announced that BJP national president Nitin Nabin would attend the programme on October 15. A special highlight will be the Kevat episode, depicting the boatman helping Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman cross the Ganga. Popular singer, actor and MP Manoj Tiwari will portray Kevat.
