Lucknow/Farrukhabad: In a tragic accident on the expressway near the Kakori police station area, three young men lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries after their car collided with a truck carrying iron rods. The group of friends was on their way to Lucknow for wedding shopping when the accident occurred around 12:30 a.m.
The deceased have been identified as Shashank Singh Rathore (24), a resident of Jaitpur village in the Jahanganj police station area, who was to be married on December 2. Accompanying him were friends Shivam Yadav (24) from Civil Line New Basti, Anuj Yadav (24) from JNV Road, Aditya Rajput (24) from Central Jail, and Shantanu Singh (24) from Qadri Gate Awas Vikas Colony.
The car, driven by Shashank, crashed into the rear of a truck loaded with iron rods, leading to the instant deaths of Shashank, Shivam, and Anuj. The incident has left their families in deep mourning, particularly as the group was making this trip for Shashank’s upcoming wedding preparations.
The two injured friends were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Authorities are investigating the incident further to determine the exact cause of the collision. This tragedy serves as a somber reminder of road safety and the unforeseen dangers that can arise on highways.
