Stories in Every Step: LCWW’s Heritage Walk Rediscovers Lucknow’s Soul

Lucknow – The essence of Lucknow’s past and present came alive as Lucknow Connection Worldwide (LCWW) orchestrated a captivating Heritage Walk from Chowk to Rumi Darwaza. A blend of history, culture, and flavors, the walk was a testament to the city’s enduring charm and inclusivity.

The evening began on a melodious note, courtesy of Shoaib Quraishi, who traveled from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to be part of this unique experience. His soulful tunes set the mood, and an unexpected yet heartwarming moment ensued when LCWW members joined a family celebrating their daughter Pihu’s birthday, adding a personal touch to the event.

Guided by renowned historian Atif Anzar, participants explored Lucknow’s architectural jewels, including Rumi Darwaza, Satkhanda, Clock Tower, and Baradari. As they wandered through the city’s historic lanes, Anzar’s engaging storytelling enriched their understanding of Lucknow’s evolving cultural fabric.

No Lucknow experience is complete without its legendary cuisine. The group indulged in the city’s iconic delicacies—succulent kebabs, aromatic kormas, crisp tikkis, and the soothing warmth of Kashmiri chai. Anil Shukla, a visitor from Canada, shared his delight: “My appetite for Kashmiri Tea just can’t be satisfied in one cup! But more than that, I am overwhelmed by the warmth and inclusivity of Lucknow’s Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, where traditions and togetherness blend like the perfect brew.”

The evening took a deeply emotional turn near the Ghantaghar stepwell, where members encountered Rani, a homeless girl. In an act of compassion, LCWW members promptly arranged food and assistance, embodying the true spirit of humanity. The walk also featured an impromptu musical gathering, where members embraced Lucknow’s spirit of unity and extended heartfelt Ramzan greetings.

The journey concluded at the magnificent Rumi Darwaza, where Rajendra Singh Pawar’s mesmerizing musical performance transformed the night into a celebration of heritage, togetherness, and joy.
