Speech Competition Organized on Veer Bal Diwas at National PG College, Lucknow

Lucknow: The National Service Scheme (NSS) of National PG College, under the leadership of Principal Professor Devendra Kumar Singh, organized a speech competition on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas. Addressing the students, Professor Singh highlighted the significance of December 26, 1705, marking the martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh. He shared that Veer Bal Diwas has been observed since 2022 to honor the sacrifices of the four Sahibzadas of the last Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.

Dr. Archana Singh emphasized that on this day, the young Sahibzadas, aged just 8 and 5, were reportedly buried alive for refusing to convert their faith. She urged everyone to pay homage to their sacrifices and acknowledged the day as an opportunity to honor India’s brave children who exemplify courage and sacrifice.

Student Anurag, during his speech, stressed the importance of pride in one’s faith and heritage, much like the Sahibzadas. Student Manvi Thakur advocated for preserving Hindutva values and resisting the allure of Western culture. Another student, Raghav, highlighted the role of the youth in safeguarding Indian culture, drawing inspiration from the Sahibzadas’ ultimate sacrifice to protect their religion and heritage.

NSS Program Officer Pranati Mishra encouraged students to draw inspiration from the heroic tales of the Sahibzadas and apply their values in their lives. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all students.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Archana Singh, NSS Program Officer, who also served as the event coordinator.
