Gonda: Superintendent of Police Railway Lakshmi Niwas Mishra conducted the annual inspection of the Government Railway Police (GRP) police station in Gonda on Wednesday and issued directions to personnel regarding passenger security and police preparedness.
During the inspection, Mishra visited the CCTNS office, malkhana, lock-up, armoury and police station office. He reviewed official records and assessed the functioning of various sections, issuing necessary instructions to the concerned personnel.

At the armoury, he inspected the condition of weapons, helmets, body protectors, batons and riot-control equipment. Keeping passenger safety in mind, he directed personnel to ensure that riot-control equipment remains ready for immediate deployment whenever required.
The SP Railway also interacted with police personnel and reviewed their responsibilities. He directed them to maintain sensitive and courteous behaviour towards women passengers and ensure that their grievances are addressed on priority. He also inspected the Women Help Desk and interacted with the women personnel deployed there.

In view of upcoming festivals and the expected increase in passenger movement, Mishra directed officers to strengthen security arrangements at the station and on platforms. He instructed personnel to maintain surveillance over suspicious persons and conduct intensive checking drives. The GRP station in-charge was also directed to keep all riot-control equipment in active and ready-to-use condition.
Mishra subsequently conducted a foot inspection of the railway station platform, circulating area, foot overbridge and other locations to assess passenger security and arrangements for smooth movement. He directed police personnel to maintain heightened vigilance during the upcoming festive period and ensure prompt action in case of any security-related issue.
