Basti: Leaders and workers of Samajwadi Party Basti have started a democratic hunger strike in front of the statue of Lal Bahadur Shastri at Shastri Chowk Basti, demanding the release of student Mohit Yadav of Basti district.
District President of Samajwadi Party Basti and MLA Mahendra Nath Yadav said that Mohit Yadav, son of late Mukesh Yadav, resident of village Sukarouli, police station Lalganj district Basti, lived in a rented room in Pikoura Datturai locality of the city. Some goons entered his room two days ago and first beat him up, then forcibly kidnapped him by making him sit in a car. Its CCTV footage has been viral on social media since yesterday. Till now, neither Mohit Yadav has been recovered, nor has any of the main accused been arrested.
Samajwadi Party leaders have started a dharna for the safe recovery of student Mohit Yadav.
