RTI training given in AKTU

Lucknow: A special training program on the provisions of the Right to Information Act was organized at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University  under the guidance of  Vice Chancellor Prof. JP Pandey. Subject expert and former director of Center for Excellence and Training UP Housing and Development Board Rajesh Kumar Mehtani explained in detail about the various provisions of the Right to Information Act.

He gave information about the Right to Information Act 2005 and Uttar Pradesh Right to Information Rules 2015. He threw light on the concept of RTI and its objective. He said that the right to know or right to information is a fundamental right of citizens. Despite being a fundamental right, information was not available before the RTI Act came into force.

But after the implementation of RTI, this right was available to the citizens. Information can be sought from any public authority. Material in any form is information. He said that the applicant has the right to inspect the materials and take certified copies of the records. During the workshop, information was shared about the process of disposal of the application, detailed examination of the application etc.

Explained in detail about various formats of RTI application. Made the register of format three important. Said that under the legal provision, information can be denied to the applicant.

While expressing her gratitude, the Principal Secretary Reena Singh said that this training program will definitely benefit all the officers and employees in their work. Said that such workshops will be organized in future as well. All the officers and employees participated in the program.
