1.Take us through your journey in the film world?
Ans. Film experience is always grand and before doing the Maharaj, I have already done a couple of regional movies. So I like how films, they work in detailings, bahut minor cheezo ko dhyan diya jata hai. So film world has been amazing. I mean personally as an actor, I feel film ho, web show ho, kuch bhi ho, as an actor you have to give your best.
2.What are your best experiences working for Maharaj ?
Ans. The best experience was actually the outcome, jab movie bahar aaye and I got to watch the whole movie, that was the best part, that it has come out and the role has come out really well.
3.You got good reviews on Malayalam film Anarkali, why do you think regional cinema has a lot of potential?
Ans. Regional movie has a lot of potential, aisa kuch nahi hai ki sirf regional mein potential hai. I feel Malayalam, out of all the regional movies, I feel Malayalam has more acting potential. They quite opt for you know artistic movies and story based, it’s not just commercial commercial.
4.Having experienced both big screen and TV why do you think, mental health should be a priority?
Ans. Well, this is not just for actors, I believe this is also for people who work in corporate and in general, mental health is important like our physical health is. Because like I said, mainne bhi doh saal ka gap liya wa tha just to work on my mental health, you sometimes tend to get lost or you just keep going, kabhi kabhar aapko apne aapke saath waqt leke pata ho, you know where you are, who you are, who you want to be, what you want in life. Sometimes hum is duniya mein gum ho jaate hain. So it is very important to work on your mental health.
5.How do you define your fashion statement ?
Ans. Comfortable, just being and I think I am a denim t-shirt person.
6.How big a role do scripts play on your choices as a professional? What are the key aspects that you keep in mind while scanning through the script ?
Ans. I started off playing small characters and I did leads and I have done cameos and now that Maharaja has released and it has come out so well, mainne bahut cheez experience kar liya hai and now as an actor, if I have to say, I just want acting oriented characters, be it lead or be it just a prominent character in the show or the movie, bada role nahi but strong role hona bahut zaruri hai. So that’s how I look at it. Dil se aana chahiye, whatever I am doing I should feel it and I should just give my best. I think that’s the thing that always comes to my mind and it should all be obviously convincing enough.
7.Do you believe that OTT is a gamechanger in the cinematic space ?
Ans. OTT has definitely come up with a lot of opportunities and bahut acche acche shows ban kar bhi aa rahe hain. TV par back to back ek time pe ek hi show chal sakta hai, ab yaha pe toh itne saare platforms aaga aur hum kitne bhi shows daal sakte hai so definitely it is a huge opportunity for actors.
9.Who do you draw inspiration from in Bollywood?
Ans. It may sound very weird but even while growing up I did not have any inspiration as such kyunki main toh bachpan me bhi movies nahi dekhti thi, main aaj bhi itni movies nahi dekhti hu. Also, I am a director’s actor and I always feel jab script aur role mere haath me aata hai, mujhe bas yeh hota hai ki mujhe feel karke har ek cheez karne hai. So that’s what I always work on. I don’t like imitating someone aur of course ab jab kuch dekhte ho toh aap acchi cheeze lete ho lekin wo main on floor experience uthane me zyada belief karti hu.
10.Any big future plans you have in mind ?
Ans. Big future plans as such toh matlab honestly when I entered the industry also mujhe pata nahi tha ki main actor banne wali hoon, ab ban gayi hoon, 14 saal nikal gayi hain, almost 15 years. There are no big big plans but there are definitely goals of doing some nice characters, working with the best rest of directors and producers. And main meri unfortunate life me hi rahi ki mere koi bhi shows 1-1.5 saal se upar nahi chale. Pyaar bahot mila lekin wo show, I feel TV me show jab bahot lamba chalta hai toh actor ke liye acha hota hai. So ab mera bas yeh ki mujhe bas I get lucky with the projects that I do.
11.How would you describe a day in the life of Priyal Gor ?
Ans. I wake up, I go to the gym, I have my breakfast followed by meetings or auditions. If I’m working, then I go to set. If I’m not shooting, I have some meetings or I’m just home chilling, watching some content, some informative documentaries and yeah, if I’m shooting, of course, we pack a plate and then come back home, have dinner and go to sleep. If I’m home, then I’m just chilling, watching TV, having, you know, my meals, meeting friends. And right now I’m just like going through a lot of scripts. So I’ve been reading a lot of scripts. So yeah, my day is always chill and I love my bedroom.
12.Your message to young women who aspire to be part of tinsel town ?
Ans. Just keep working hard. Yes, failures aayenge but hamesha firse uthna hai, self-doubt nahi rakhna hai, apni worth jaanni hai, never settle for less, yeh sari kuch-kuch galtiyan mein karti hoon aayi hoon, so yeh mera apna experience hai and yeah, agar aapka dil bolta hai, you should just go ahead with it because life is about risk, aur risk nahi loge toh aap bas apne comfort mein bethe rahoge. So it’s very important to get out of your comfort zone. Also, ek actor ki life mein discipline hoona bahut zaruri hai, ek project se doose project mein ham bahut time ghar bette hai, we tend to lose our confidence. So which is why a discipline, a routine is very important, be it you do workout, you do yoga, meditation or you know, whatever your hobby is, whatever you enjoy doing. So yeah, this is my message. Thank you so much.
