Rohilkhand University Plans BCA Course, 200-Bed Hospital and Mega Job Fair

Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University held a meeting of its Financial Advisory Committee under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Professor Anil Kumar Rai to discuss infrastructure development, new academic programmes, innovation and student welfare initiatives.

The meeting, held in the committee room at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, deliberated on proposals to develop information technology and artificial intelligence facilities, establish a 200-bed hospital, introduce aviation courses and promote organic farming on the university campus.

The committee also discussed mobilising Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to finance these proposed projects and programmes. Companies including Ola, ONGC, Bharat Zinc Limited, IBM and Wipro were identified for potential engagement to secure financial support.

Several key initiatives were discussed, including providing insurance coverage to students through CSR funding and arranging an ambulance and a vehicle for waste management on campus. The introduction of a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) course was also proposed.

The committee agreed on organising an alumni reunion every year to strengthen engagement with former students and seek their support for the university’s development. A dedicated mobile application will also be developed for the alumni network.

A mega job fair and a Kisan Mahotsav (Farmers’ Festival) are proposed to be organised around December to facilitate employment opportunities and promote engagement with the farming community.

The meeting also discussed two student-oriented initiatives, ‘Shravan Sarathi’ and ‘Vriddh Vardaan’. Under these programmes, students will identify problems and needs in their neighbourhoods and suggest practical solutions. Students will receive two academic credits for their participation in these community service activities.

Participants attending the meeting online included S.R. Ola, Dr Ajit Pathak, Sehul Shah, K. Lakshman and Dr Amit Rai Jain. Those present in person included Professor America Singh, Dr Rampal Singh, Registrar Mahendra Kumar Singh and Finance Officer Mahima Chand.

The discussions focused on strengthening the university’s infrastructure, expanding academic opportunities, building industry partnerships and encouraging students to contribute to society. The proposed initiatives are aimed at supporting the institution’s long-term development while creating additional educational and career opportunities for students.
