Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, organised a Women’s Health Screening and Blood Parameters Testing Camp at the Maitri Girls’ Hostel and University Health Centre as part of its 24th Convocation celebrations under the theme “Mother-Daughter Conference: Celebrating Women, Empowering Generations.”
The health camp was conducted in collaboration with Rajshree Medical Research Institute, Bareilly, under the guidance of Uttar Pradesh Governor and University Chancellor Anandiben Patel and the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare, encourage regular medical check-ups and raise awareness about women’s health among students.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from girl students residing in university hostels as well as those from various academic faculties. A panel of medical specialists conducted a series of health examinations, including haemoglobin (Hb), complete blood count (CBC), blood glucose and blood pressure tests. Participants also received expert counselling on women’s health, nutrition, mental well-being, stress management and healthy lifestyle practices.
Doctors interacted directly with the students, addressing their health-related concerns and encouraging them to undergo regular health screenings while adopting balanced dietary and lifestyle habits to prevent common health issues such as anaemia.
The programme was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) Tulika Saxena, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Head of the Department of Business Administration.
The successful organisation of the camp was supported by Prof. A.K. Singh, Head of the Department of Applied Philosophy and Chief Warden; Prof. Nivedita Srivastava, Head of Applied Chemistry and Warden; Dr. Jyoti Pandey, Dr. Ruchi Dwivedi, Dr. Abha Trivedi, Dr. Kirti Prajapati, Dr. Amit Verma, Administrator of the University Health Centre, and Dr. Vinita Jain, Deputy Librarian and Warden.
The medical team included Dr. Shweta Rai, an MS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) specialist, along with Dr. Pranali, Dr. Rimpy, Dr. Neha and Dr. Anil, who provided valuable guidance on women’s healthcare, disease prevention and early diagnosis.
University officials described the initiative as an important step towards ensuring the health, safety and empowerment of female students. They reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to organising similar welfare-oriented programmes in the future.
Held under the message “Healthy Women, Healthy Families, Healthy Nation,” the health screening camp was widely appreciated for promoting awareness, preventive healthcare and holistic well-being among young women.
