Lucknow: Lucknow International Airport Limited has introduced an RO drinking water facility at its cab staging area near Laxman Chauraha, aimed at improving basic amenities for cab drivers and strengthening the airport’s ground transportation ecosystem.
The facility was inaugurated by Chief Airport Security Officer Vikas Pandey in the presence of Chief Airport Officer Darshan Singh. The cab staging area has a capacity of around 230 cabs and handles nearly 1,600 cab turnarounds every day.
The new facility will benefit drivers operating prepaid cabs as well as services such as Ola, Uber and WTI. It is intended to provide clean and purified drinking water to cab drivers and other personnel associated with ground transportation operations.
The initiative is part of Lucknow Airport’s efforts to provide better working conditions and essential amenities for its cab partners.
The cab staging area is a secured and monitored facility, with CCTV surveillance and security personnel deployed to maintain an organised and safe environment for drivers and vehicles.
Airport officials said the addition of the RO facility is aimed at addressing an essential day-to-day requirement for drivers who spend extended periods at the staging area while supporting passenger transportation services.
