Gonda: A meeting was held to address persistent electricity supply problems in the Katra Bazar area, particularly in villages connected to four power feeders—Ranjitpur, Ramapur, Devapasiya and Parsiya Rani.
The meeting was convened by the District Magistrate of Gonda with the Superintending Engineer of the Electricity Department and the Executive Engineer, Electricity Distribution Division, Colonelganj, to review the inadequate power supply in the affected villages and the delay in installation of a proposed 5 MVA transformer.

Katra Bazar MLA Bawan Singh was also present during the meeting and raised several issues related to electricity supply in the constituency.
During the meeting, the Superintending Engineer directed the concerned officials to ensure that the 5 MVA transformer proposed to be installed in Katra Bazar town is commissioned by September 10. Officials were instructed to complete all related work before the deadline so that the transformer becomes operational by September 10.

The commissioning of the transformer is expected to address the problem of unscheduled power cuts and improve electricity supply in the surrounding area.
The Katra Bazar MLA also brought several other electricity-related problems in the area to the notice of the officials. The concerned departmental officers were directed to resolve these issues within a stipulated timeframe and ensure better power supply to consumers.
The officials were also instructed to closely monitor the progress of the transformer installation and take all necessary steps to ensure that the work is completed without further delay.
