Pedal Today, Plant Tomorrow: Suez Conveys the Message of Environmental Conservation

Lucknow: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Suez (One City One Operator) organized various awareness programs aimed at promoting environmental conservation and sustainable lifestyles. A special cycling campaign was organized for the occasion, through which citizens were encouraged to reduce pollution, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and recognize their responsibilities toward the environment.

Officials and employees of Suez, along with the ‘Sapnon Ki Udaan Foundation,’ actively participated in this cycling campaign. This organization works toward the rehabilitation and empowerment of female acid attack survivors. Their participation made the event even more inspiring.

Additionally, in collaboration with the Institute for Water and Climate Initiative (IWCI), Suez organized a tree-plantation drive within the premises of the Bharwara STP plant. During this event, discussions were held regarding environmental conservation, the challenges posed by climate change, and the pivotal role trees play in building a greener future.

Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Mathpal, Project Director at Suez, stated, “World Environment Day serves as a reminder that environmental conservation is not solely the responsibility of institutions or governments; rather, it is a shared responsibility of us all. Activities such as cycling convey the message of reducing carbon emissions, while tree plantation represents a significant step toward ensuring a clean and healthy environment for future generations. The participation of every section of society is absolutely essential to make this campaign for environmental conservation a success.”

The objective behind these activities organized by Suez was to demonstrate to people that even small efforts can make a significant contribution toward environmental conservation. During the event, all participants reiterated their commitment to environmental conservation and pledged to play an active role in building a greener and cleaner future.
