Mumbai: Television producer Ekta Kapoor is gearing up to bring a new story to Star Plus following the finale of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The television czarina has hinted at an upcoming project featuring a fresh pairing of Gaurav Khanna and Shraddha Arya, sparking curiosity among viewers.
In a recently released teaser, Khanna and Arya are seen arriving at the Balaji Telefilms office. Although the duo smile in response to questions from paparazzi, they refrain from revealing details about their upcoming project. Adding to the anticipation, Kapoor teased audiences with a clear message: “The surprises are yet to come!”
Speaking about her new show, Kapoor said, “One story has ended, but the surprises are yet to come! After the grand finale of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, everyone was asking me, ‘Ekta, what’s next?’ How could I keep audiences waiting any longer? I knew the next story had to be something special—something that would capture people’s attention, touch their hearts and make them fall in love with the characters all over again.”
She added that bringing Gaurav Khanna and Shraddha Arya together was an exciting way to begin the next chapter. Both actors have received considerable affection from audiences, and Kapoor said she had wanted to see them share the screen for some time.
“Now that it is finally happening, I am extremely excited, although a little nervous too. I have already started wondering how audiences will react when they see the two together,” she said.
Emphasising her enduring connection with television, Kapoor said the medium would always feel like home to her. She described creating characters that become part of people’s everyday lives as a unique experience and said the bond with audiences continued to inspire her enthusiasm for new stories.
Kapoor also expressed gratitude for the love viewers had extended to her shows over the years. She said her aim with every new project was to offer stories that audiences could connect with deeply.
“Kyunki gave audiences a memorable farewell. Now it is time for a new beginning—one that they can fall in love with all over again,” she said.
While details of the upcoming show remain under wraps, the teaser and Kapoor’s remarks have heightened expectations for the new project on Star Plus.
