Gonda… Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager, Gaurav Agarwal, the North Eastern Railway, Lucknow Division, today achieved a new milestone in making freight transportation more robust and efficient. The division successfully operated the ‘Awadh Mahashakti’ freight train, consisting of three freight trains, from Gonda to Moradabad Division via Sitapur. This freight train, prepared by the Gonda ROH depot, is North Eastern Railway’s first freight train. This train has a total of 129 wagons and three engines.
Under the leadership of Senior Divisional Operations Manager/Coordination, Dr. Shilpi Kannaujiya, the ‘Awadh Mahashakti’ freight train departed from Gonda Junction station at 1:50 p.m. The simultaneous operation of 129 wagons in this freight train will enable the transportation of more freight in a single trip. This will increase the railway’s revenue and transportation capacity. Running three trains together will result in better utilization of operating time, fuel consumption, and track capacity.

On this occasion, Divisional Railway Manager, Gaurav Agarwal, stated that the successful operation of the “Awadh Mahashakti” freight train is an example of the division’s improved efficiency, coordination between departments, and good management. Its objective is to provide faster and more cost-effective service to customers by increasing freight transportation capacity. If these freight trains were operated separately, three separate routes and crew arrangements would be required. Running them together as “Awadh Mahashakti” will save time and provide more passenger/freight trains with more space.
