‘Natural Heritage walk” at Lohia Park Gomtinagar, Lucknow.

Aadaab Arz Lucknow a social awareness group this morning organised aA forest land was converted into park in 2005 which contains the old trees.. To study about the old trees found there which are 100-50 yrs old.

The walk was conducted by Rekha kumar and Muhammad Ahsan Sir rtd Principal conservator of forest is an avid reader and expert of old trees of Indian forests. Ahsan Sir highlighted about the trees which are indigenous of India like Acacia or babul, jungle jalebi, varieties of fig trees, jamun, Amla, Mulberry tree , anjeer, cotton tree, Kalp vraksh, mango, Neem, peepal, Rudraksh, green semal, satpadi, banyan, Kadam tree, Plumeria, Gulmohar, Palash flower tree ( flame of forest)is a State flower of UP, shore pines and medicinal plant Arjuna also those brought from other nations like Madagaskaar such as Baobob or Parijat tree.

He said Lohia park is full of green cover and the oxygen level is too high here because of the huge canopy of tree foliage.

It was attended by the members Roshan Singh, Atif Anzar, Siddharth Gaur, Sadhna kohli, Gita Srivastava,Gunjan Jain and was highly appreciated by number of attendees and regular walkers from different walks of life.
Followed by tea at the Lohia canteen.
