Modi all set to rally in Punjab, security agencies alert

Chandigarh: Security agencies are on high alert ahead of a massive PM Modi rally, NSG commandos and seven companies of Gujarat Police have also been deployed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Punjab on Thursday. Central security agencies have put Punjab on high alert till Prime Minister Modi’s rally. Intelligence agencies have been alerted to ensure that there is no security lapse during the Prime Minister’s rally. The PMO has sought a report from the Punjab Police regarding the security arrangements regarding the Prime Minister’s visit to Punjab. Apart from NSG commandos and seven companies of Gujarat Police, what arrangements are the Punjab Police making at its level regarding security arrangements and which officers have been given the responsibility of security during PM Modi’s visit.

A concrete report has been sought on this. Farmers are agitating in Punjab. Farmers were stopped from marching to Delhi, now farmers have publicly announced to surround Prime Minister Modi in the election rally in Punjab.
According to the information, PMO has also sought input from the DGP of Punjab Police on the farmers’ movement. Only selected leaders will be present on the stage with Prime Minister Modi in the Punjab rally. Apart from State President Sunil Jakhar, Punjab in-charge and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Captain Amarinder Singh and BJP candidates, national leaders will be present along with the Prime Minister.
