Bareilly — A large-scale event was held yesterday at the MBA Department auditorium of MJP Rohilkhand University under the “Nasha Mukt Yuva” (Drug-Free Youth) campaign, organized as part of the Central Government’s ambitious “Nasha Mukt Bharat” initiative.
The programme opened with University Registrar Mahendra Singh administering an anti-drug oath, which everyone present in the auditorium — officials, teachers, staff, and students alike — repeated together, pledging to stay away from drugs and substance abuse.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh offered his guidance on the occasion, telling students that the younger generation is the country’s future and that curbing the growing trend of drug use is a shared responsibility. He said the university would make every possible effort to keep its campus completely drug-free and to keep students informed and aware, and urged them to stay away from addiction and stay focused on their goals instead.
Following the oath-taking, everyone in the auditorium watched a live telecast of the national “Nasha Mukt Yuva” programme broadcast from Delhi, which concluded with an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His message to the youth — about steering clear of the harmful effects of drug use and adopting a healthier lifestyle — struck a particularly motivating chord with those present.
The stage was decorated with flower garlands for the occasion, and the auditorium was lined with banners and posters carrying anti-drug messages. The event was attended by University Controller of Examinations Dr. Anil Kumar Yadav, Prof. S.K. Pandey, Prof. Vinay Rishiwal, Dr. Rajiv Kumar Yadav from the National Service Scheme, along with a large number of teachers, officials, staff members, and students from across the university. The programme wrapped up with everyone reaffirming their commitment to the national anti-drug campaign.
