Minister Dharmpal Singh calls to expedite vaccination work

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister  Dharmpal Singh has given strict instructions to the officials that vaccination work should be done continuously to protect the livestock from infectious diseases and ear tagging work should be expedited and also uploaded on the livestock portal.

Strict action will be taken against the officials who are negligent in ear tagging work. In view of the rainy season, the officials should ensure adequate arrangements of fodder, straw, water, light, medicine etc. for the destitute cattle in the cow shelters. Along with this, the work of sowing fodder in 20 thousand hectares of area should be completed in every condition by 15 August as a campaign for the availability of green fodder to the destitute cattle throughout the year.

Dharmpal Singh  reviewed in detail the work of transporting destitute cattle to the cow shelter, proper arrangements of cow shelters to protect them from rain, ear tagging work, livestock insurance and green fodder sowing in his office room located in Vidhan Bhavan here.

Singh directed that the target of 100% green fodder coverage should be achieved on time by immediately sowing other fodder seeds on the available free/grazing land in the districts. The cattle roaming on the roads and in the villages should be protected on priority basis and comprehensive management should be done to protect the livestock from communicable diseases and there should be no shortage of vaccines and medicines.

The Livestock Minister clearly instructed the officials to effectively monitor and inspect and verify the availability of straw, green fodder, grains, water, light, vaccines, medicines etc. in all the districts. He said that the officials should go to the districts and do on-site inspection of the cow shelters and ensure the availability of necessary arrangements there. Mr. Singh said that wherever any problem arises in the districts, the headquarters should be immediately informed about it. Protection and promotion of destitute cattle is the priority of the state government and negligence in these works will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

In the meeting, Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department  Ravindra assured the Minister that strict compliance of the guidelines received from him will be ensured. The Principal Secretary directed the departmental officers to complete the work of sowing green fodder within the stipulated period. Action will be taken against the concerned if the target is not achieved.

He directed the officers to ensure necessary arrangements for the safety of livestock in view of the rainy season. He said that the officers should take the cow protection work with full seriousness and sensitivity.

Special Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department  Devendra Pandey, Director of Animal Husbandry Department Dr. P.N. Singh, Additional Director Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh, Additional Director Dr. Jaykesh Kumar Pandey and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
