Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A. K. Sharma held a public grievance hearing at his official residence in Lucknow, where he listened to concerns raised by citizens from various districts across the state and directed officials to ensure timely, high-quality, and satisfactory resolution of all complaints.

During the interaction, the minister reviewed a wide range of issues related to the Energy and Urban Development departments and emphasized that public grievances must be addressed with urgency, accountability, and sensitivity.

A large number of citizens attended the hearing to present their concerns and requests. Key issues raised included sanitation services in urban local bodies, drinking water supply, sewerage and drainage problems, electricity connections, installation and capacity enhancement of transformers, power supply-related complaints, housing scheme benefits, road infrastructure, street lighting, and other essential civic services.

Taking up each case individually, Sharma instructed officials to initiate immediate action wherever required and ensure that affected citizens receive prompt relief. He stressed that administrative responsiveness and efficient service delivery are essential to maintaining public trust in governance.

The minister reiterated that under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the state government remains fully committed to improving public services and resolving citizens’ concerns without delay. He described public grievance hearings as more than just a platform for receiving complaints, calling them an important mechanism for strengthening direct communication and trust between the government and the people.

“Public grievance redressal is a key measure of effective governance. Negligence or unnecessary delays in addressing citizens’ concerns will not be tolerated,” Sharma said.

Reviewing matters related to the Energy Department, the minister directed officials to prioritize complaints concerning electricity supply, new power connections, transformer upgrades, and other technical issues. He emphasized that uninterrupted and reliable electricity services are vital for both households and businesses and should receive immediate attention.

Similarly, officials of the Urban Development Department were instructed to deal proactively with issues related to sanitation, drinking water supply, sewer networks, waterlogging, housing schemes, and other civic amenities. Sharma called for a citizen-centric approach and directed authorities to ensure that all complaints are resolved within prescribed timelines while maintaining quality standards.

The minister further stressed that government departments must remain accessible and responsive to public needs, ensuring that welfare initiatives and civic services reach beneficiaries efficiently. He urged officials to work with dedication and accountability, keeping public interest at the forefront of all administrative actions.

The grievance hearing concluded with assurances that all complaints received would be monitored closely and that departments concerned would be held accountable for delivering timely and effective solutions.
